Kentucky Educational Television (KET) delivers the PBS national schedule; its own wide range of local arts, cultural, documentary, and public affairs productions; and adult education programs and college-credit courses to viewers throughout Kentucky and in parts of seven surrounding states. KET is DEEP DOWN 's official public television station partner. Chicken & Egg Pictures supports women filmmakers who have made a commitment to use their storytelling skills to address the social justice and human rights issues of our time. The inspiring founders of Chicken & Egg, Julie Parker Benello, Wendy Ettinger, and Judith Helfand, awarded an "I Believe in You" grant to DEEP DOWN in November, 2008, and provide ongoing mentorship to the filmmakers. Pacific Pioneer Fund supports emerging documentary filmmakers. The term "emerging" is intended to denote a person committed to the craft of making documentaries, who has demonstrated that commitment by several years of practical film or video experience. The Banff Centre ’s Mountain Culture and Environment programs promote understanding and appreciation of the world’s mountain places by creating opportunities for people to share — and find inspiration in — mountain experiences, ideas, and challenges. Film Arts Foundation (FAF), based in San Francisco, was a non-profit leader in the media arts field, providing comprehensive training, equipment, information, consultations, and exhibition opportunities to independent filmmakers. Shortly after providing a small seed grant for DEEP DOWN 's research & development, Film Arts Foundation was absorbed by the San Francisco Film Society. Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) is the fiscal sponsor of DEEP DOWN . It is a nonprofit media arts center launched in 1976 as a way to make emerging video technology accessible to independent mediamakers. Today, with that mission still at its core, BAVC has evolved into a media arts "teaching hospital." The Fledgling Fund supported DEEP DOWN's outreach campaign and work with faith-based communities. The Fledgling Fund seeks to improve the lives of vulnerable individuals, families, and communities by supporting innovative media projects that target entrenched social problems.
